We are excited to perform for the first time at Frederick Presbyterian Church in downtown Frederick. Featured works will include premieres by Theo Chandler, and Frederick native, Mark Powell, Ingolf Dahl’s ‘Variations on a Swedish Folk Song’, Danielle Fisher's transcription of Liszt's 'Transcendental Etude No. 10 in F minor' for wind quintet, and more.

Meet MWF Musicians & Peformance @ the Fletcher Library

Take a break today and bring the family to the Fletcher Library in Hagerstown to enjoy a concert of folk-inspired classical music by the Maryland Chamber Winds on Thursday, June 29 @ 1:30PM. 

*Prior to the concert, we are offering a free chamber music workshop for middle and high school students from 10:30AM to 12:30PM.  Workshop seating is limited to 30 students, so preregistration is required.  Please call 301-739-3250, extension 163 to register.

Folk Songs and Serenades

We are thrilled to return to Trinity Lutheran for the third year to present folk-inspired works. Featured works include a second performance of our commissioned work from 2017 composer in residence Mike Mogensen, Charles Ives’ colorful ‘Variations on America’, Enescu's captivating 'Dixtuor', and Janáček's 'Mládí'.

Chamber Music Workshop @ TJ High School

MWF collaborates with Governor Thomas Johnson High School for our second annual free workshop dedicated to chamber music and composition. Maryland Wind Festival artists will discuss the basics of playing chamber music and coach students in small ensembles. Our MWF Staff Arranger Danielle Fisher and 2017 Composer-in-Residence Mike Mogensen will then lead an interactive composition masterclass with attendees. We hope to see you there!

Join us for the first performance of our 2017 concert series, featuring a dynamic program of folk inspired chamber music. Featured works will include a premiere by 2017 composer in residence Mike Mogensen, the charming Enescu 'Dixtuor', Christian Kolo’s imaginative interpretations of traditional folk song field recordings, and more. Join our musicians during intermission and after the concert for musical wine pairings and light hors d'oeuvres!
