Brian Tracey is an accomplished pianist and clarinetist living in Baltimore, Maryland. Brian graduated summa cum laude from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 2014 with a B.M. in Music Education and Clarinet Performance. During his senior year at WCU he was a winner of the annual Concerto Competition, performing Mozart's Clarinet Concerto with the symphony orchestra. He has recorded with the WCU Wind Ensemble on the MSR Classics and Mark recording labels. In 2016, he completed is Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance at the Peabody Conservatory. There he played associate principal clarinet in the Peabody Symphony Orchestra and appeared as a soloist and chamber musician on the Thursday Noon Recital Series. He also played principal clarinet with the Peabody Symphony Orchestra for a recording of Kevin Puts’s music for orchestra under the baton of Marin Alsop, on the Naxos label. Since completing his master’s degree, he is now working as adjunct clarinet faculty at Peabody Conservatory and as an academic advisor in the Peabody Preparatory. He holds the position of Principal Clarinet with the Berks Opera Company in Reading, PA, and is a member of the clarinet section with Liberty Winds in West Chester, PA and Maryland Winds in Columbia, MD. In his free time, Brian enjoys hiking, kayaking, and riding his motorcycle.
