Jay (Jack) Sutey is currently a freelance bassoonist in the Chicago area pursuing a M.M. in Bassoon Performance at DePaul University with William Buchman and Miles Maner. A native of Fairfax County, Virginia, Jack went on to receive his B.M. in Music Education magna cum laude at the University of North Texas. At UNT, he studied with Kathleen Reynolds and performed with the UNT Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, and Symphonic Band. He can be heard on recordings with the UNT Wind Symphony as well as the UNT Symphonic Band under the GIA and Klavier labels. During his final year at UNT, Jack was awarded the Outstanding Undergraduate in Music Education award by his professors and mentors, and was the recipient of the Gerke Collegiate Artist Scholarship from the Mu Phi Epsilon Foundation.
